Chinese Writing Competition

Introduction:
In order to provide an opportunity for students to practice their Chinese writing practice, we are announcing the "Chinese Writing Competition".
Topic :
"My Story with Chinese Language" / (我和中文的故事)
Eligibility:
- All Students from University of Leeds (non-native Chinese speaker) are eligible for the competition.
Submission:
- Words count will be 500-1,000;
- Write in Chinese Language (Either Simplified or Traditional Chinese is acceptable);
- Either handwriting with a scanned copy or Word doc is acceptable;
- Poems are not allowed;
- Please send your submission as an email attachment to our headteacher An Mengmeng (m.an@leeds.ac.uk) and cc to BCI marketing executive Xunnan Li (x.li12@leeds.ac.uk);
- The author’s name(s) and the total word count should be included in both the email subject line and the title of the attachment.
Deadline:
- The deadline of submission will be by 11:59 pm (GMT), November, 03, 2022.
Prizes:
- First prize for one student: 100£ cash + BCI Certificate;
- Second prizes for two students: 50£ cash + BCI Certificate;
- Third prizes for three students: 30£ cash + BCI Certificate.
Judging Panel:
- All submissions will go through blinded judging process by BCI teachers. Profiles of judges can be found on our website.
- Result will be announced by November 10, 2022 by email.
- Successful candidates might be invited to BCI anniversary event on 16th November.
Ethics and Rules:
- Fabrication and plagiarism are strictly prohibited;
- Submissions after deadline will not be accepted;
- Submissions longer than 1,000 will not be accepted.
