Language and culture are closely intertwined, and teaching Chinese as a second language (TCSL) and the transmission of Chinese culture are complementary.
This symposium aims to discuss topics such as Chinese culture and the arts, the comparative study of Chinese and Western culture, transmission of culture through language so as to expand the depth and breadth of Chinese language teaching and to promote communication and interaction between cultures.
TCSL and Communicating Chinese Culture and the Arts
Major topics to be discussed:
1) Studies on theory and practice in TCSL and the transmission of Chinese culture and the arts
2) Studies on Chinese culture and the arts
3) Comparative studies of Chinese and western culture
4) Cultural studies in the international teaching of Chinese
5) The use of media in transmitting language and culture (Functions and methods)
6) Theories and methods of the cultural market and the transmission and communication of culture

Conference fees
Meals and accommodation will be arranged by the organizers. Attendees are required to organize their own travel to and from the venue.
