Hometown in China:

Xi’an

Favourite food:

Hot pot

Hobbies:

I like doing yoga, watching movies,  jogging and gardening

Favourite thing about teaching Chinese:

I enjoy the process of students learning Chinese to understand each other's cultural differences and show their respects for each other. Teaching Chinese makes me connected to the world.

Top tip for beginner learners of Chinese:

The most important thing is to let the students speak, rather than just listen to the teacher. Whether it is pronunciation rules or simple everyday words such as "hello", the students need to be guided to speak by themselves, and the teacher will help correct the pronunciation appropriately

Top tip for more advanced learners of Chinese:

Advanced students can try to read simple Chinese poetry to understand the connotation of Chinese culture. Language and culture are inseparable, and reading poetry will also help students feel the rhythm of Chinese

Favourite Chinese saying or chengyu:

和光同尘(Be able but modest)

A Chinese TV show I recommend to students:

I recommend the reality show "Back to  Field”. You can feel the beautiful scenery of China by watching this program. Besides, most of the language in the program is simple daily language and more colloquial, which is conducive to improving your communication level.
