Are you a current University of Leeds undergraduate or postgraduate student with an interest in marketing, communications or Mandarin Chinese teaching? Would you like to gain valuable experience of working in a cross-cultural environment? 

Working within the Business Confucius Institute team and supporting the Communications and Engagement Officer the Project Assistant will contribute to a variety of BCI activities, such as scheduling and creating content for the website and social media, as well as organising events.

Through these activities you will have the opportunity to engage with a wide range of stakeholders and Mandarin learners, internal and external to the University and to develop communication, project management and intercultural skills.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

As a Business Confucius Institute Project Assistant your main duties will include:

  • Assisting with the recruitment of candidates to provide case studies for the blog and social media;
  • Contributing to the creation of blog posts, emails, social media posts and web content, helping to ensure that content is accessible and generating subtitles for video content where required;
  • Helping to develop the Business Confucius Institute Instagram account;
  • Assisting with the organisation of events. These may be online or in-person;
  • Contributing to meetings where appropriate;
  • Making suggestions for improvements to content and processes based on the data collected;
