We are taking part in a jam packed family day hosted by Action at the University of Leeds on the 21st April. Come along to enjoy a range of fun activities, including our tai chi taster sessions and calligraphy demonstration.

The day will consist of theatre, music and tai chi workshops dotted throughout the day, along with different stations including but not limited to a gardening stall, cake decorating stall, language zones, and many more! There will be opportunities to learn about different cultures, try new activities and meet new friends. The day will run from 11am-4pm, and a buffet style lunch will be provided.  Feel free to come for the whole day, or only a bit, and bring families you know. The more the merrier.

This event takes place just one week before World Tai Chi Day, which is on 28 April 2018, so we will run two tai chi taster sessions to introduce you to this traditional Chinese martial art. Tai chi is an excellent form of exercise for people of all ages and fitness levels, making it a perfect activity for families to try together. It is a slow and peaceful practice that allows you to connect with your breath and fully sense the relaxing rhythm of the movements. Just drop in on 21 April to discover the world of Yin and Yang; nature and relaxation!

Tai chi taster session times:

  • 12:55 - 13:40
  • 15:15 - 16:00

We will also be available throughout the day to talk to you about Chinese language and culture, with activities such as calligraphy demonstrations at our station.
