The Business Confucius Institute (BCI) at the University of Leeds has won the Leeds University Business School Partnership Awards 2022 Global Award.

BCI Communication and Marketing Officer Xunnan Li attended the ceremony on behalf of the team.

“The Partnership Awards recognise the exceptional work of staff and students who truly put the Leeds Partnership into action. The Partnership is a recognition by the University and Leeds University Union, of the need for all members of the Leeds community – both students and staff – to work together to contribute to students’ sense of belonging, and to enable them to make the most of the opportunities available to them during their time here.” Leeds Business School

This year's Business School partnership awards ceremony was held in person on April 27, 2022, at the Esther Simpson Building. Professor Julia Bennell, the Executive Dean of Business School, delivered the opening speech. Associate Professor Cathy Myles, Pro Dean for Student Education, announced the partnership Award winners and runners-up and extended her congratulations to all nominees.

The BCI won the Global Award category, which recognises staff and students who are actively engaged in promoting and supporting international and intercultural activities, out of over 100 nominees.

Pro Dean for Education Cathy Myles presented the award, saying, “The BCI is a group who consistently find innovative and engaging ways to promote understandings of Chinese language and culture, both within the Business School and wider business community.”

We are delighted to be recognised by the Business School for the Global Award for our efforts over the past year to successfully make a significant contribution to our community with a truly global focus.

Despite the pandemic, we not only maintained the excellence of our teaching and operational activities, but we also established a series of aspirational and innovative activities to encourage students studying online or looking for inspiration for the future.

We dedicate the award to all BCI staff and students who have participated in and supported our past, present, and future efforts to promote and support international and intercultural activities.
