Top tip for beginner learners of Chinese: speak as much as you can and stay curious.

Top tip for more advanced learners of Chinese: immerse yourself in the beauty of Chinese language by talking to native speakers.

Favourite Chinese saying or chengyu:海内存知己,天涯若比邻 (hǎi nèi cún zhī jǐ , tiān yá ruò bǐ lín ) (a bosom friend afar brings a distant land near).

A Chinese TV show I recommend to students:欢乐颂(Ode to Joy)

It is a television series in China, revolving around five women living in apartment “Ode to Joy” sharing their experiences in work and love as independent modern woman. You can see the collision between the values of traditional Chinese society and the development of modern society.
