🌕📸 Mid-Autumn Moon Photo Competition Winners

This September as part of our mid autumn festival celebration, we invited our students, staff and wider community to capture the beauty of the Mid-Autumn moon alongside the landmarks and scenery that make Leeds unique.

We were delighted to receive four entries, each offering a different perspective on Leeds beneath the autumn moonlight. From city views to local landscapes, the photographs showcased both creativity and an appreciation for one of the most important festivals in the Chinese cultural calendar.

Carla Primer was also selected for a prize

After careful consideration, we are pleased to announce that  Zhang Yu and Carla Primmer were selected as our competition winners in first and second place. Their outstanding photographs impressed the judging panel with their composition, creativity and ability to capture the atmosphere of the Mid-Autumn Festival.

The competition formed part of our Mid-Autumn Festival celebrations, encouraging participants to connect with the traditional symbolism of the full moon while exploring the local surroundings of Leeds. It was wonderful to see how each entrant interpreted the theme in their own way.

We would like to thank everyone who took part and shared their photographs with us. Your enthusiasm helped make the competition a success, and we enjoyed seeing Leeds through your lenses.

Festive notebook prizes!

Congratulations once again to Carla Primmer and Zhang Yu, and thank you to all who entered. Both will receive festive notebooks as prizes. We look forward to running more creative competitions and cultural activities in the future.
