Dr Giles Blackburne stepped down after 6.5 years in the role.

Dr Iain Clacher, Leeds University Business School Pro-Dean (International) said:

Giles brought immense knowledge and experience to the BCI. Under his leadership the Institute has flourished as a valuable member of the Business School, University and local communities.

"In 2019 the BCI was instrumental in supporting the launch of the Visit Leeds China Forum, helping local businesses to be ‘China ready’. In 2022, after navigating the challenges of the COVID pandemic, the BCI was awarded the Business School’s Partnership Award in the Global category for its work to promote and support international and intercultural activities.

"I am delighted that the BCI will now benefit from Lynda's vision, passion and leadership as it continues this important work."
