I'm from the port city of Dalian (it has amazing seafood),  this city is in the province Liaoning, which is in North Eastern China.

Favourite food

Definitely "Cola Chicken", which like it sounds, uses Coca Cola to make the flavour. It really is delicious!

Hobbies

I love listening to music, particularly hip-hop. My favourite artist is Tyler the Creator!

I also love watching movies, my favourite is "2001 A Space Odyssey"

Top tip for beginner learners of Chinese

Find the areas of Chinese that you are interested in, you shouldn't just use the textbooks. You should explore some films or tv.

Top tip for more advanced learners of Chinese

Immerse yourself in Chinese is my top top tip! You need to create a language learning environment, and everything you do should be in Mandarin. Think in Chinese, sleep in Chinese, breath in Chinese!

不积跬步无以至千里 - bùjīkuǐbù wúyǐzhìqiānlǐ A long journey is only completed by taking one step at a time!

A Chinese TV show I recommend to students

奇葩说 (Lets talk) is great!  Young people will share their ideas on some topical items such as sexism or when is an appropriate age to retire. Its great for learning Chinese, but more importantly helps you to better understand China from a young persons perspective!
