I love eating Dim Sum! but quite interestingly I would say my favourite dish is....Chicken feet haha. Would you ever try one?

Hobbies

I have lots of hobbies!

Most recently I like playing Frisbee. In the past I have enjoyed Badminton. I also love to paint.

Favourite thing about teaching Chinese

If it is teaching foreign students, I love to know more about their culture and their hobbies. I also believe that when I teach, I also learn about myself and about my country, so this is interesting to me.

Top tip for beginner learners of Chinese

I think persistence is the most important, you just need to keep practicing.

Top tip for more advanced learners of Chinese

Maintain your passion for Chinese, you need to keep looking for what it is you enjoy? is it culture, is it entertainment, literature? what is it?

I also advise more advanced learners to try to experience China themselves, either by travelling there, or by making Chinese friends.

Favourite Chinese saying or chengyu

有志者事竟成 - yǒu zhì zhě shì jìng chéng -"Where there is a will, there's a way"

I think whenever you do something, your attitude and mentality is the most important. I certainly used this when I began to learn English! At first I thought it was sooo difficult, but slowly I made progress, because I never gave up!

A Chinese TV show I recommend to students

家有儿女 - Jiā yǒu érnǚ- A home with kids

Its a little similar to the tv show "friends"- my favourite scene from it is below. It really makes me laugh.
