Watch the recording of this talk online
Learn about the history of Chinese characters, appreciate different character styles and find out what the four treasures of Chinese calligraphy are.
Vivien will talk about the couplets that are displayed everywhere at Chinese New Year and demonstrate how to write the character fu (福), which means good fortune.
You will also learn some fun tips and tricks for understanding Chinese characters.
If you’d like to follow along then why not prepare a brush and some paper? You can find the liquid ink that we use for our calligraphy activities on Amazon, but watercolour paints or even just water will be fine as a substitute. Send us a picture or tag us on Twitter or Facebook and we’ll give you some feedback!
How to attend the session
The talk will be delivered on Blackboard Collaborate Ultra, and the link to access the session will be sent out to all registered attendees on the day of the event.
All video and microphones will be muted but you can ask questions using the chat function.
