We are running this calligraphy workshop in partnership with the East Asian Research Society at the University of Leeds. All are welcome to come along and have a go at this ancient art form!
The workshop is very hands-on and assumes some basic knowledge of Chinese characters. After going over the technique for holding the brush and making the basic strokes, you will be able to move around various activities to write greetings, poems, and other useful or interesting phrases.
Teachers will be there to guide you and give feedback on your work, but the main goal is to have a go and enjoy yourself! You will find that calligraphy is a relaxing and absorbing activity.
The workshop costs £2 for members and £3 for non-members, and you can pay on the door. Please contact ears.soc@gmail.com if you would like to attend.
