Chinese New Year discussion in the Language Zone

In this Language Zone session (open to University of Leeds students) we will introduce Chinese New Year traditions and facilitate cultural exchange between attendees.

‘Fridays with the Language Zone’ are regular sessions held in the Language Zone Team for students working on their English, including many from China. For this special ‘mash-up’ session in honour of Chinese New Year, we are bringing together these Chinese students with others who are interested in China and Chinese language.

Chinese students, come along ready to share your own Spring Festival traditions. Non-Chinese students, join us to learn about this important festival and meet people who celebrate it. If you are from another country that celebrates Lunar New Year, join us to share your traditions too!

This informal and interactive chat will include an introduction to Chinese New Year traditions from Business Confucius Institute staff, followed by Q&A and discussion with the group.

Language Zone sessions are open to University of Leeds students and staff. The link to join this Zoom meeting will be shared in the Language Zone (English) Team and in the Language Zone (non-English) Chinese channel on the day of the session.
