Explore the connection between China’s diverse geography and its rich musical traditions.
This public lecture takes audiences on a journey along China’s two great rivers — the Yellow River and the Yangtze River — revealing how landscapes such as deserts, grasslands, mountains, and water towns have shaped distinct musical expressions.
🎤 The lecture will be delivered by Chinese music and geography scholars, offering vivid insights into regional cultures and soundscapes.
🎼 Live performances of traditional Chinese music will accompany the talk, featuring performers from Durham, Manchester, York, and Leeds.
