Join this introductory tai chi session to relax your mind and body! Part of the University's Window on Wellbeing Week.

Discover Chinese Yang Style 24 Form Tai Chi with our instructor Li Yueju.

Derived from Chinese martial arts, Tai Chi Quan incorporates many classic elements of Chinese thought, such as the unceasing change of yin and yang. Its movements are gentle and slow, like floating clouds and flowing water. When the counterpart’s strength strikes forward, the change reduces the counterpart’s strength, like striking cotton.

There is a saying in Chinese martial arts, “Internally, spirit and breathing are exercised; externally, bones, muscles and skins are exercised”.

Join us to move, relax and connect with others at this practical workshop. We recommend wearing comfortable clothing suitable for gentle physical activity.

Please sign up here to let us know you plan to join us. You are also very welcome to drop in on the day.

If you have any questions or access requirements please email Frances Noble at f.noble@leeds.ac.uk

Window on Wellbeing Week

This annual week-long programme of health and wellbeing activities for students and staff takes place this year from Monday 26 – Friday 30 June.

The theme for this year is Community and Connection. Having a sense of belonging to the people and places around us is linked to improved health and wellbeing so you're encouraged you to join in, meet new people from across the University and try out some of the activities on offer.

There is a great mix of on campus, off campus and online events designed to connect people from across the University and have some fun! Whether you’re looking to feel energised, discover a new hobby or find a sense of calm, there is something for everyone.
