Hometown 

I'm from Zaozhuang City, Shandong Province. Shandong Province is located in eastern China and is the hometown of Confucius. It is also home to the famous Mount Tai. 

Hobbies: 

My hobbies are watching movies and playing the Guzheng (Chinese zither).

Teaching Chinese characters, including their evolution, structural composition, and the cultural content they contain. 

Top tip for beginner learners of Chinese 

I recommend that beginners try to balance their studies with learning Chinese characters. Some learners may focus primarily on oral communication, but having some understanding of Chinese characters will lay a solid foundation for more in-depth learning in the future. 

Top tip for advanced learners of Chinese 

If you want your Mandarin to sound more natural, I suggest focusing on practicing Chinese tones. It's important to speak more and not be afraid of making mistakes. If you do that, you're already halfway to success! 

Favorite food 

Sichuan and Chongqing hot pot, spicy and incredibly satisfying! 

Favourite Chinese saying or chengyu（成语） 

读万卷书，行万里路 (dú wàn juǎn shū, xíng wàn lǐ lù). This proverb means that we should apply what we learn to practice, and the process of practice is a process of deeper learning. 

A TV series I would recommend to students 

 《知否知否应是绿肥红瘦》(Zhī fǒu zhī fǒu yìng shì lǜ féi hóng shòu) "The Story of Ming Lan". This is my favorite Chinese TV series! It's a historical drama set in the Song Dynasty. This TV series not only has a fascinating plot but also has great educational significance. In the drama, you can also experience Chinese tea culture, clothing culture, ancient etiquette, and more. I think it's a fantastic TV series!
